A friend loves at all times, and truly I love you.
I do not wish for you to come to me as a servant,
Expecting a list of the things I want you to do for me.
Rather, I want you to draw near to me as a friend,
Spending time with me just to be with me.
I value the time you give me.
I know that sometimes you use it as an excuse to just sit still for a few minutes.
That’s okay with me.
Sometimes I let you get worn out just so that you’ll draw near.
I am your refuge. Time with me is never time wasted.
Talk to me, as a friend.
Tell me about your day.
Share with me the quiet desires of you heart.
Let me encourage you. I can give you real courage.
I am your source.
Let me comfort you.
Let me care for you.
I am with you. Always.
Day and night I linger close by.
I am closer than a phone call.
I am nearer than tomorrow.
I am not your master, I am your friend.
Don’t fear reaching out to me but let my love drive your fears away.
Ask me what you need to know.
I will hide nothing from you, my friend.
I long to whisper my secrets to you.
I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
