Not For Folded Laundry
If you come to my house 5 minutes from now you’ll find laundry and toys all over a floor that needs vacuuming, kids sitting mesmerized in front of the tv, and a dog desperately in need of a bath. It’s been one of those days… Actually, it was one of those weekends.
Days like these are the reason I adore my husband. Even though he’s gone at work he still manages to come to my rescue.
“I feel terrible that I haven’t gotten to the laundry yet.” I say to him over the phone.
“Who cares!” He promptly answers. “I didn’t marry you so I would have folded laundry.”
Today those words are the most romantic in the world!
So, if you come to my house 5 minutes from now you’ll find laundry and toys all over a floor that needs vacuuming, kids sitting mesmerized in front of the tv, and a dog desperately in need of a bath. It’s been one of those days. I will be on the front porch in my rocking chair reading my Bible, listening to praise music, and thanking God for my husband. Without him I might forget that my life is about my relationships first and my responsibilities second. And on days like this, I need a little extra time with my Father in Heaven.Father in Heaven, Thank you for always being there in the midst of my chaos. Thank you for a husband who continues to remind me to tend to my relationship with You before anything else. In Jesus name, Amen.
It’s so easy to get caught up in the other everyday things. Great reminder of what’s really important. Thanks!

I know this is an old post, but it makes me sigh 🙂 It is so well written Jennifer and I really needed to see this post today.
Aw, thanks Johnlyn! I’m not sure if you saw Emily’s post yesterday, but it had me in puddles by the end. It’s so good to be loved.
Be loved
Beloved
Seriously never thought of it that way before!
I thought it was great too. Hope you’ve been being loved all weekend. 😉
